Update Your Winter Wardrobe – Vintage Brocade Fabric

Every Monday I will be linking my vintage fabric stash to a fashion trend on the High Street.

This winter, according to Saturday’s Telegraph, the alternative to sequins and glitter is – wait for it “brocade”.   I’ve always loved this fabric and it has in the past been used to make stunning evening bags, but how about a pair of shorts, a jacket or a pair of trousers?!  Don’t over do it. The head to toe outfit should be firmly left in the 1970’s glam rock era but a classically tailored piece could revitalize your winter wardrobe

These pieces of vintage brocade fabrics have been lurking in a box in my stash for months – who out there is going to give them a new lease of life?

Upcycling Furniture with Vintage Fabric and Wallpaper

As anyone familiar with my blog knows my passion is vintage fabric.  However, on my travels I see lots of tired and worn out furniture begging for a new lease of life.  As a qualified City and Guilds Upholsterer I have the skills to refurbish these items and here are a few items that I have recently brought home to my workshop.

Original unpainted Lloyd Loom storage box

Tired and faded Bedside cabinet

New vintage fabrics

A great weekend of fabric hunting has thrown up these fantastic prints which have now been listed on my website http://www.sagodesign.co.uk
Free postage is standard to Uk and European buyers and until the end of June there is a free gift of a vintage fabric needle case and pin cushion.
